11/22/63 by Stephen King: On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. Jake Epping is a thirty-five-year-old high school English teacher in Lisbon Falls, Maine, who makes extra money teaching adults in the GED program. He receives an essay from one of the students. Not much later, Jake's friend Al, who runs the local diner, divulges a secret: his storeroom is a portal to 1958.

 

Bluefish by Pat Schmatz: First day, new school, no way out.  It sucks being with Grandpa in this new town.  It sucks that they left the old place without finding Rosco.  Travis doesn’t want to do anything, especially try to get by in his classes, which never seems possible anyway.  He’s a Bluefish – stupid, angry, alone.

An Abudance of Katherines by John Green:  Having been recently dumped for the nineteenth time by a girl named Katherine, recent high school graduate and former child prodigy Colin sets off on a road trip with his best friend to try to find some new direction in life while also trying to create a mathematical formula to explain his relationships.
